Plucky Wire is developed by Plucky Works, a for-profit limited liability company in Washington State. The company is led by Johnny Bassett, with generous financial and technical support from the Granite State News Collaborative and MuckRock Foundation. We're a small team dedicated to building simple, affordable tools for scrappy newsrooms like yours.

We're for-profit because we believe that journalism is more independent and resilient when it's supported by the market, rather than a small number of funders. Obviously, we wouldn't be here without the grants that got us started, but we know that funders don't want us dependent on them forever. We agree that's for the best.
