Efforts to eliminate microbetting in New Jersey advanced Monday as an Assembly committee unanimously approved a bill that would prohibit casinos and racetracks from offering small, fast-paced bets on parts of sporting events.

A microbet, as defined by A3258, is a bet which is “wagered live, while a sport or athletic event is ongoing, and concerns the outcome of the next play or action in the sport or athletic event.”
