For the first time in a decade, participation in Rhode Island’s health insurance marketplace has taken a nosedive.

About 10,000 people covered through HealthSource RI dropped coverage during the 2026 open enrollment period, representing 20% of the 48,000 enrolled before open enrollment began in November, according to data from HealthSource RI published Monday.
