Approximately 440 students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe are without electricity and have limited access to running water after a winter storm brought sleet and ice to North Louisiana.

University spokesman Adam McDonald said power provider Entergy Louisiana is hopeful it can restore power to 90% of the Interstate 20 corridor, which includes Monroe, by Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to remain below freezing into Tuesday.
