Today is an important day in two major world religions. It is the first day of Ramadan for Muslims and the first day of Lent for Christians. These traditions have in common several spiritual practices for observing their respective holy seasons: fasting, prayer and resetting our focus on people who are marginalized, hungry and oppressed.
