West Virginia could for the first time have permanent funding for emergency medical services, including ambulances and paramedics.

House of Delegates members unanimously passed a bill Monday that would put $12 million in funds to support EMS workers across the state as long as receiving counties can match the allocated funds. The money could also pay for other EMS-specific support services, like mental health care.
