Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy has vetoed a bill naming a state park and a University of Alaska research group after one of the signers of the Alaska Constitution, Vic Fischer.

Fischer, who died in 2023, was the last living signer of the constitution at the time of his death and was the first director of the Institute for Social and Economic Research, which would have been named in his honor.
