The Alabama House of Representatives Tuesday passed a bill that would allow certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNP), nurse midwives and physician’s assistants (PA) to sign off athletic physicals for K-12 students.

HB 276, sponsored by Rep. Ed Oliver, R-Dadeville, allows physicals signed by CRNPs to and midwives to be considered valid if a physician is not able to sign off on the physical.
