The House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee approved legislation that extends the time that law enforcement can collect DNA evidence.

HB 454, sponsored by Joe Lovvorn, R-Auburn, increases the time that law enforcement can execute a search warrant for a DNA reference sample from 10 days to 60 days before it is void.
