The Alabama House of Representatives Tuesday approved a bill that would require the Public Service Commission (PSC) to hold formal rate hearings on electricity prices in the state at least once every three years.

HB 475, sponsored by Rep. Mack Butler, R-Rainbow City, would also prohibit utility companies from passing costs for lobbying efforts, advertising and grants onto customers.
