The Alabama House of Representatives Tuesday passed a bill that would set emergency preparedness standards at camps in the state, a response to a deadly flood in Texas last year whose victims included a girl from Mountain Brook.

HB 381, sponsored by Rep. David Faulkner, R-Mountain Brook, requires overnight camps to obtain an emergency preparedness license from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency in order to operate.
