An Alabama House committee Wednesday approved legislation on Wednesday to require the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles to consider educational and employment achievements by parole applicants while incarcerated.

HB 86, sponsored by Rep. Chris England, D-Tuscaloosa, allows the parole board to consider education and employment history while applicants were in custody of the Alabama Department of Corrections.
