The Alabama Senate on Wednesday unanimously passed a $3.7 billion General Fund budget for 2027, a $8.1 million (0.2%) increase over the current year’s budget.

SB 146, sponsored by Sen. Greg Albritton, R-Atmore, is about $37 million more than Gov. Kay Ivey’s recommendation. The budget includes conditional funding for the Alabama departments of Corrections (DOC), Human Resources (DHR) and Mental Health (ADMH).
