An Alabama lawmaker filed a bill Thursday aimed at resolving a months-long battle over the state’s Internet sales tax.

SB 347, sponsored by Sen. Greg Albritton, R-Atmore, would move the counting of population to distribute revenue from the Simplified Sellers Use Tax (SSUT) from 10 years to five years. Albritton announced the legislation shortly before the Alabama Senate adjourned Thursday morning.
