The Alabama Senate on Thursday passed a $10.5 billion education budget with minor changes, sending it back to the House for final approval.

The version the Senate passed maintained pay raises for teachers and less money for a health insurance program for education employees that Gov. Kay Ivey proposed. Senators made small changes to a version of the ETF that came out of the Senate Finance and Taxation Education Committee on Wednesday.
