An Alabama Senate Committee Wednesday passed a bill that would require app store providers to have an age verification system for minors.

HB 161, sponsored by Rep. Chris Sells, R-Greenville, passed the House last week. It would require app store providers to provide age verification for minors, parental notification and data protection. It passed the Senate Children and Youth Health Committee unanimously.
