A state appellate judge from Tangipahoa Parish announced Wednesday she intends to run for a vacant seat on the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Judge Blair Downing Edwards, a Republican who sits on the First Circuit Court of Appeal, said she will enter a special election to replace Associate Justice Will Crain, who was recently confirmed as a federal judge, in District 1.
