Two Arkansas cities were awarded a combined $2.5 million in grants for pollution cleanup activities by the Environmental Protection Agency, the regulator announced Wednesday.

Russellville and Crossett will receive $1.5 million and $1 million, respectively, to conduct more than 70 environmental site assessments of brownfield sites. The funds will also be used to develop cleanup plans, and, in Crossett, to clean up the Crossett Municipal Building.
