As 2026 begins, so does the second year of Maine’s two-year legislative session.

The official start of the second regular session of the 132nd Legislature is Jan. 7, but throughout the fall the 35 members of the Maine Senate and 151 members of the House of Representatives have been revising proposals and introducing emergency measures with the guidance of analysts and other staff.
