At least eight state lawmakers lost in Tuesday’s primary election with two incumbents set for a June primary runoff.

Two Republican state senators lost with 47.9% of votes in their respective districts, according to unofficial election results. Sen. Greg Albritton, R-Atmore, the chair of the Senate Finance and Taxation General Fund Committee, lost to farmer and veteran Terry Waters of Robertsdale. About 17,400 people voted in the primary.
