PIERRE — A bill to criminalize the sale or advertisement of “an article or thing” designed to perform an abortion is on its way to the South Dakota Senate.

The Senate State Affairs Committee voted 8-1 Wednesday to advance it. If it succeeds in the Senate, it will go to the governor’s desk for final approval.
