A measure to prohibit Louisiana governors from running for more than two terms cleared the House of Representatives Tuesday after two previous votes failed.

House Bill 225, sponsored by Rep. Mike Bayham, R-Chalmette, is a constitutional amendment that will need voter approval if it gains full legislative approval and is placed on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
