Indiana has received just over $20 million from the federal government for its two-year contract to hold immigration detainees at Miami Correctional Facility. That’s against roughly $22 million in expenses, Department of Correction commissioner Lloyd Arnold told lawmakers Thursday.

Rep. Ed DeLaney, D-Indianapolis, pressed Arnold on the topic at a State Budget Committee meeting, saying the committee and the public needed to understand the effect of the program.
