Colorado’s warm winter broke the previous record for highest average temperature by nearly 2 degrees Fahrenheit, researchers at Colorado State University confirmed Tuesday.

The record-shattering heat makes Colorado one of nine states in the West to have experienced their warmest winter on record in 2025-26, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
