A nonprofit advocacy organization is seeking to intervene as a defendant in a federal government agency’s lawsuit against West Virginia over access to sensitive voter information.

Citizen Action Group filed the motion Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. The organization is represented by the Campaign Legal Center, the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the ACLU of West Virginia.
