In late February, the Michigan House Oversight Subcommittee on Corporate Subsidies and State Investments brought in Christy Gillenwater, who was introduced as a “retired senior management consultant specializing in mergers and venture capital,” to testify about the financial and surveillance implications of data centers.

But Gillenwater was never actually a management consultant — she’s a meditation instructor, according to her LinkedIn under her unmarried name of Christina Burns, the only employment listed since 2010.
