New Mexico Rep. Meredith Dixon (D-Albuquerque) told attendees at a pro-nuclear conference Tuesday that the state is poised to be a “leader in all things nuclear energy,” especially given the state’s recent investment in new technology and its access to national laboratories.

But she acknowledged that convincing her colleagues in the Legislature to embrace nuclear energy, as well as the broader New Mexico public, remains a challenge.
