An Ankeny dentist who is being sued for alleged malpractice is now facing disciplinary charges of professional incompetence.

The Iowa Dental Board has charged Dr. Steven Yuan of Aspen Dental in Ankeny with failure to maintain a reasonably satisfactory standard of competency in the practice of dentistry, and with knowingly making misleading, deceptive, untrue, or fraudulent representations in the practice of the profession.
