DOVER — Deputy Mayor Dennis Shanahan and former state Rep. Shawn Mickelonis have both filed to run for mayor, setting up a contested race for the city's top office in the Nov. 4 election.

The filing period for two-year terms for Dover mayor, City Council and School Board runs until Sept. 19 so there's time for more candidates to emerge.
