COLUMBIA — For his final prayer as House chaplain, Charles Seastrunk asked God to grant representatives the wisdom to make the best decisions for the state and to accept the transfer of power.

“Continue to restore your blessings upon our nation, president, state, governor, speaker, staff and all who contribute to the good things we have,” Seastrunk prayed to a chamber of bowed heads on Jan. 21, his final day.
