Food stamp recipients and small business owners in parts of North Louisiana are eligible for federal disaster assistance to cover their losses from the recent severe winter weather.

Residents in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program who live in Caldwell, DeSoto, East Carroll, Jackson, Ouachita, Red River, Richland or West Carroll parishes will automatically receive an additional 20% of their January SNAP benefits, according to a statement Tuesday from Gov. Jeff Landry.
