Small businesses in Whatcom and Skagit counties can apply for low-interest loans through the federal Small Business Administration if they were affected by an April freeze earlier this year.

Private nonprofits, faith-based organizations, small agricultural cooperatives and small aquaculture operations hit by the freezing weather April 16 may also be eligible. Qualifying counties also include Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Grant, Lincoln and Okanogan.

Recipients could get up to $2 million in federal disaster money. …
