LONGVIEW — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approved a project to dredge giant ship turnarounds in the Columbia River by the ports of Longview and Kalama.

Creating areas where large ships can turn around near those cities’ ports will help ships move products more quickly, leaders say.
