OLYMPIA — Gov. Bob Ferguson signed an emergency proclamation Monday, Aug. 10, expanding access to the state’s cash disaster assistance program to help wildfire victims.

The proclamation also suspended state laws restricting health care facilities and providers to help fire victims access support faster.

The proclamation comes after fires in Spokane County burned an estimated 900 structures and massive wildfires in Okanogan County that have burned more than 270,000 acres combined.
