Bull trout were listed as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act in 1999 after the Alliance for the Wild Rockies and Friends of the Wild Swan successfully sued the Fish and Wildlife Service. Bull trout require cold water from 36 to 59 degrees F. If it gets warmer than that, they start to die.
