The Indiana Hoosiers made history with their national championship title, which now will become an artifact for posterity.

Commemorative flags and photographs of the team’s title game helmets will be buried in a time capsule beneath the U.S. Capitol Building this summer in celebration of the nation’s semiquincentennial.

The time capsule — one of two to be buried next month — is not to be opened until America’s 500th birthday July 4, 2276.
