A lawsuit brought against the state of Michigan by Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties will continue to proceed in federal court now that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in a case out of Colorado that the state’s ban on conversion therapy should be subject to a high legal standard known as “strict scrutiny” for potential First Amendment violations.
