Lawmakers looking to increase the supply of affordable housing in Maine are backing proposals that would make industrialized housing construction and manufactured home ownership more streamlined and accessible.

Two bills designed to support Maine’s industrialized housing industry, and make manufactured homes and tiny homes more affordable, are headed to the full Legislature after they won the support of the Committee on Housing and Economic Development this week.
