An Alabama lawmaker who won election to the House in 2024 campaigning on reproductive rights is planning to file a late-session bill to protect access to contraceptives and in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Rep. Marilyn Lands, D-Huntsville, modeled the bill on a Tennessee law sponsored by two Republicans in 2025 that protects access to IVF and provides a safeguard to access to birth control.
