People driving between Burlington and Bellingham this week on Interstate 5 may encounter a slower journey at certain times of day due to maintenance work on the freeway.

At milepost 234 near the Samish River, crews will close northbound I-5’s left lane between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Tuesday, June 2 to 5 a.m. Thursday, June 4 to “mow along the freeway,” according to a state Department of Transportation news release.
