An Iowa nonprofit that advocates for the rights of immigrants is suing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for allegedly violating federal public-records laws.

Prairielands Freedom Fund, a nonprofit organization of immigration attorneys and grassroots advocates that works in Iowa and 10 other Midwestern states, is suing ICE in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa over the federal agency’s alleged failure to comply with provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
