The Idaho Legislature’s budget committee agreed Thursday to provide a one-time funding increase to help cushion the impact of budget cuts for the Idaho Judicial Branch.

Last month, the Legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee, or JFAC, cut the general fund portion of the state budget for most state agencies, departments and the judicial branch by 5% beginning in fiscal year 2027, which begins July 1.
