An Idaho House of Representatives committee advanced an “incremental” step toward implementing new requirements for the use of a program to check if workers are authorized to work in the U.S.

The House Business Committee on Friday advanced Senate Bill 1247, which would require all state and local governments and large government contractors to use the system E-Verify. The committee voted to send it to “general orders,” for potential amendments.
