The Idaho Legislature is again considering calling for a never-before-used method of amending the U.S. Constitution to call for a federal balanced budget.

The Idaho House State Affairs Committee on Thursday introduced the proposal for the state to request a constitutional convention, brought by Rep. Josh Tanner, an Eagle Republican who co-chairs the Legislature’s budget committee.
