Iowa Democrats sent a letter to Whirlpool Corporation calling for the company to “reconsider” planned layoffs at its Amana manufacturing plant in March.

The layoffs of 341 employees at the Iowa County factory, effective March 9, was announced by the company Feb. 17. The Amana facility manufactures refrigerators under the Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag and Amana brands.
