Rep. Steve Holt, R-Denison, said Wednesday’s vote in the Iowa House to ban “warrant resolution clinics” could prevent future tragedies like the killing of Ashley Marie Hall earlier in April.

But other lawmakers expressed concerns that outlawing these programs could limit Iowa communities’ access to a potential tool in resolving a court backlogs.
