The Sioux City Community School District and its board members did not violate the Iowa Open Meetings Law during a closed-door evaluation of former superintendent Paul Gausman, the Iowa Supreme Court has ruled.

Friday’s ruling stems from an appeal filed by Gausman, and a cross-appeal filed by the school district, in a lawsuit concerning two closed-session board discussions in 2022.
