North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong has appointed Michelle Kommer of Fargo to the State Board of Higher Education, the governor’s office announced Thursday.

Kommer previously held roles in state government, including as commerce commissioner, labor commissioner and executive director of Job Service North Dakota. Kommer is an attorney and owns and operates HighRoad Partners, a firm that provides services related to human resources, benefits and payroll.
