One of Gov. Jeff Landry’s floor leaders in the Louisiana Legislature will become leader of his executive staff.

The governor’s office announced Tuesday that state Rep. Julie Emerson, R-Carencro, will take over next week as chief of staff. She replaces Kyle Ruckert, who is leaving the administration to lead a group dedicated to promoting the Landry agenda.
