The Maine Legislature considered, and initially passed, nearly 30 proposals to study issues such as tenant-landlord relationships and consumer fraud. But legislative leaders decided to only move ahead with a handful.

Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives Ryan Fecteau (D-Biddeford) said the decision to reject most studies was because of the impending gubernatorial transition.
